Amador County District 2 Supervisor

Background

Richard Forster, Amador County District 2 Supervisor, was born on July 31, 1960 in South Laguna, California. He has resided in Amador County since 1975 and is a proud fifth generation Californian. He graduated from Ione High School in 1978 and the University of California, Davis, in 1982 with a degree in Agricultural & Managerial Economics. Supervisor Forster previously served on the Amador Water Agency Board of Directors for 8 years, the Amador County Fair Board for 17 years, and the Ione Planning Commission. He is a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West in Ione, the Preston Castle Foundation, the Rotary of Ione, and the Sutter Amador Hospital Foundation Board.

Richard and his wife, Laurie, were married in 1982 and have two daughters. Tyler Forster resides in San Luis Obispo, and Lindsey Ferguson and her husband, Rob, reside in Ione with daughters Quinn and Lauren.

Supervisor Forster was elected to the following terms on the Amador County Board of Supervisors: 2001-2004, 2005-2008, and 2009-2012.
