Background

Ken has been a California Department of Food and Agriculture, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Technical Review Committee Member, Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. Ken is also on the National Invasive Species Advisory Committee (2004-2009, 2013-2016, Past Chair). He has completed the 2 year California Agricultural Leadership Program 2004, Class 33. Ken is also on the Range Management Advisory Committee to the California State Board of Forestry and Fire Protection - California agencies and departments responsible to provide advice and input: Resources Agency, Department of Food and Agriculture, Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Air Quality Resources Control Board, Water Resources Control Board, Department of Fish and Game, and Environmental Protection Agency (1998-2009, Past Chair 2001-2009). Ken is a stake holder of NP 304 Five Year Action Plan for Crop Protection and Quarantine National Program (2003 and 2008). He is also a stake holder of NP 205 Five Year Action Plan for Rangelands, Pasture, and Forages National Program (2001 and 2006). Ken was a past Vice-Chair the California Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI) Steering Committee Stake-holder, California Invasive Weed Advisory Committee (CALIWAC) and the California Inter-Agency Noxious Weed Coordinating Committee (CINWCC), Salt Cedar Bio-control Consortium (ARS). Member of the expired SB 1740 Oversight Committee, responsible for distribution of Noxious and Invasive Species funding to Weed Management Areas and Research in California. He was a past Co-Chair of the Public Lands Committee, past Chair and vice-chair of the Range Improvement Committee for the California Cattlemen’s Association (1996-2000). Ken was also a past Vice Chair of the CISAC.
