John D. Madsen

Research Biologist

Background

John Madsen is a research biologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Exotic and Invasive Weed Research Unit on the campus of University of California, Davis.  Previously, he was a faculty member at Mississippi State University for ten years, and a research biologist with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.  Dr. Madsen has been involved in research on the ecology and management of invasive aquatic plants around the United States of America for over 25 years.  Dr. Madsen has a Bachelor of Science degree from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Botany from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
